Who we are

PrayerOS is published by Alphabet (Pvt) Ltd (“Alphabet”, “we”), based in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Contact: hello@alphabet.lk.

What the app does

PrayerOS is a mosque prayer-time display for Android TV and tablets. Mosques register on alphabet.lk, receive a one-device activation code, and enter that code in the app.

Data we collect

• Activation data — activation code, a random device ID created on the device, and mosque name returned by our servers so the display can bind to one approved device.
• Display settings — prayer calculation options, colours, fonts, and related preferences stored only on the device (SharedPreferences).
• Diagnostics — crash reports and basic analytics via Google Firebase (Crashlytics / Analytics) to keep the app stable. These are not used for ads.

Prayer times are calculated on the device from coordinates you set in Settings. We do not sell personal data. The app does not show ads and does not require a Google or social login.

Why we use it

To activate and operate the mosque display, prevent misuse of codes across multiple devices, improve reliability, and provide support.

Sharing

Activation and heartbeat requests go to Alphabet servers ( admin.alphabet.lk). Crash and analytics data may be processed by Google Firebase as our processor. We do not share data with advertisers.

Retention

Device settings stay until you clear app data or uninstall. Activation records are kept while the mosque subscription/approval is active, or until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices

You can deactivate the device in the app settings (clears local activation). For mosque account or data deletion requests, email hello@alphabet.lk.

Children

PrayerOS is for mosque operators and public prayer displays. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
